Hello again!
Blog # 2, how exciting! So this post is not supposed to be a rant, although it might come off as one. Recently, I read another blog about Christmas. Let me put this out there: I. LOVE. CHRISTMAS. I can't get enough. The lights, the love, the family, the friends, the food and the gifts! Unfortunately, in this wonderful time of togetherness, one person has chosen to see it negatively. This person goes on about how selfish and greedy everyone is, because they like to buy their family and friends lavish gifts, while being a bit stressed about it. I get it, I do. The holidays can be very stressful, especially the last couple years because of the recession and such. I'll say this: I don't have a lot of money right now, being jobless and all. I'll also admit, my parents and grandparents are helping me out, which I couldn't appreciate more.
I can see this bloggers point: People are forgetting how much they have. They aren't thankful enough. Whatever.
But dear blogger: Why are you being so cynical? Have you thought about how many people are 100% appreciative of what they have? I know I am. I would be happy to just sit with my family and friends and stare at the Christmas tree all day. Even if I had absolutely no money, just walking the streets in this season is cheerful to me. I can see how for some people it is depressing that they are living in poverty, they don't have any family, and that is heartbreaking, but these people need to go outside and feel the love. There are so many organizations who dedicate all of their time and money into this month. Utilize them!
Also in response to this grinch of a blogger: Most people don't dread this time of year. Maybe you do because you always have to find something to bag on, which in that case I feel sorry for you. On the other hand, I agree with you in to some degree. Many gifts are bought and aren't appreciated, which is frustrating. But have you thought about how many are? Have you thought about the little boy who unwraps the exact firetruck he saw in the store window? He will love that truck until he's 25. What about that little girl who finally opened that box that had the pink barbie convertible she saw on TV. She'll play with that barbie for years. What about them? Also, most of the gifts that are left unused usually go to the Salvation Army or something like that. This blogger also mentions how stressed people get about having the perfect Christmas, and how unnecessary it is. It is unnecessary. People stress because they care. They want their family members to enjoy it and be happy. I'll leave it at that.
Okay. Fine. That was a rant. I just can't stand the grinches! Drives me crazy! Stop putting hate into the Christmas season! Wait until January when everyone is depressed that they gained 10 lbs. Then bitch all you want.
Anywho, onto a happier subject, SECOND YEAR TERM 1 IS DONE! Except for exams, but who cares about exams? (Haha) This term has been fantastic for the most part. A few bumps, but nothing major. Made some great friends (Mike, Tara and Kaysha etc.) you are all so funny, nice and helpful! I wouldn't have made it through this term without you. I hope I see you all next term just as much, if not more. Well, that's all for now. Merry Christmas if I don't post before then!
